GOVERNOR SOLUDO VISITS NZAM, INSPECTS 10.95KM MMIATA-NZAM ROAD PROJECT, TO LOBBY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF ANAMBRA WEST-KOGI FEDERAL ROAD

Anambra State Governor, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR, was in Nzam, Anambra West LGA yesterday, Friday, 17th February 2023 on project inspection tour. The governor, who lamented non-accessible road to Nzam, the headquarters of the local government, described Anambra West Council Area as the only known local government area that has no access road to its headquarters from the state capital in the state, nay Nigeria. He wholeheartedly empathized with the natives and residents of the area particularly the way floods ravage the area almost on a yearly basis; making them internally displaced persons, in their indigenous places, without a war or attack from anyone.

He, however, promised that his administration will do everything humanly possible to change the ugly narrative and ensure Ndi Anambra West take their elevated position as a gateway into the southeast region. At that point, there was a spontaneous overt jubilation from the crowd.

Addressing the people, Anambra West TC Chairman and his Anambra East counterpart, Comr Felix Ikechi and Anselm Onuorah, PhD, respectively, eulogized the governor, describing him as a 'talk and do governor' whose emergence is a Godsend particularly to Anambra West. They further assured the people that the road, when completed, will pave the way for investors to come in, boost economic activities and simultaneously bring more development in the area.

In his contribution, the Hon. Commissioner for Local Govt and Chieftaincy Affairs, the Hon. TonyCollins Nwabunwanne, thanked the governor for his inexplicable magnanimity in wiping away the tears of Ndi Anambra West; adding that, the road when completed will transform lives of the people and bring more prosperity to the area.

In her emotion laden voice, the immediate past First Lady of the state and APGA Candidate for Anambra North Senatorial District, Dame Ebelechukwu Obiano, appreciated the governor for bringing light to an originally considered dark area attendant upon underdevelopment orchestrated by lack of access road. She promised that, if elected, she would do her part to ensure the Anambra West-Kogi Federal Road receives the federal attention it deserves.

The Hon. Chinedu Benjamin Obidigwe, the member representing the good people of Anambra East and West Federal Constitituency and APGA Candidate for forthcoming election, thanked the governor very profoundly for making history as the governor that constructed the first ever pivotal road that connects Nzam to the rest of Anambra State.
