$72 Ready to Use School or Office Laptop? Thinkpad T410 (used)

In many of my videos, I take old business class laptops and turn them into highly responsive daily drivers. I do this by adding in a handful of budget friendly parts which usually includes a cheap SSD, extra RAM, a new CPU, and a new battery. However, it would seem that some of my viewers feel uncomfortable with taking a laptop apart. Though I have to say, I think this is an irrational fear since these business laptops are very easy to service, I was up to the challenge of finding a very cheap ready to use laptop.

I got my hands on a refurbished Lenovo Thinkpad T410 from UrbanMining on eBay for $55 plus $17 shipping. Minus a missing track pad sticker, the laptop arrived in excellent condition and ready to use. During my testing, I found that the laptop in its stock configuration was usable as a school / office machine, though it was definitely on the sluggish side when it came to opening applications and boot time. The laptop could definitely benefit from a cheap SSD and another 2GB of DDR3 RAM.
