A team of researchers from China and New Zealand has made an epic voyage to the Kermadec Trench aboard a Chinese-made submersible Fendouzhe, or Striver. At its deepest point, the Kermadec Trench stretches more than 10km (6.2 miles) into the abyss. The joint expedition aims to learn more about the geology and creatures of Kermadec Trench and the team recently unveiled the strange and rarely seen sea creatures.
