[OUTDATED] NEW Railgun 12: Worth it? - Mech Arena Comparison

Railgun 12 or Longarm 12?

-CALCULATIONS-
Railgun has a 15% chance at double damage, therefore there is a flat 15% damage boost on average to all shots.
Longarm has a 30% chance to apply Overheat, meaning the first shot never gets a boost. Successive shots on the same target increase the likelihood of Overheat being applied, and thus 50% extra damage being dealt (note: with 2 Longarms, the chance of Overheat is 51%, 30% for each weapon, minus 9% which is the chance that both apply at the same time).
Chance to apply Overheat on (chances decrease over time, since odds of it not happening prior decrease over time):
1st shot: 30% (with 1 Longarm), 51% (with 2 Longarms)
2nd shot: 21% (with 1), 25% (with 2)
3rd shot: 16.6% (with 1), 18.7% (with 2)
4th shot: 13.8% (with 1), 15.2% (with 2)
5th shot: 11.9% (with 1), 12.9% (with 2)

Since the time of Overheat determines how many successive shots get the damage bonus, we can then calculate damage based on the odds of each hit applying Overheat:
1st shot: 0% (with 1 or 2) extra damage
2nd shot: 15% (with 1), 25.5% (with 2) extra damage
3rd shot: 10.5%+15% = 25.5% (with 1), 12.5%+25.5% = 38% (with 2) extra dmg
4th shot: 8.3%+25.5% = 33.8% (with 1), 9.4%+38% = 47.4% (with 2) extra dmg
5th shot: 6%+33.8% = 39.8% (with 1), 7.6%+47.4% = 55% (with 2) extra dmg

adding all %s, and dividing by 5 (number of shots), gives average boost per shot:
22.8% (with 1), 33.2% (with 2) average damage boost per Longarm shot.
