The long-range patrol aircraft plays a critical role in air surveillance and maritime security operations. With its long range and endurance, it can conduct regular patrols over territorial waters and exclusive economic zone, monitor fishing activities, and detect any illegal activities, such as smuggling or piracy.
In 2013, the PAF decided that acquiring new maritime patrol aircraft would be among their top priority.
Israel offered the ELI 3360 to the Philippines for the long-range maritime patrol aircraft.
The ELI-3360 is a multi-mission, long-range Maritime Patrol Aircraft that combines ELTA's operationally proven sensors and mission systems with high-performance business jet platforms such as the Bombardier Global 6500 and CL650. These aircraft provide rapid deployment, cheap operating expenses, a smooth ride, and extended range and endurance.
With a high-performance mission suite, the ELI-3360 provides great operating performance. With its advanced sensors, the mission suite delivers marine arena situational awareness, battle management, and fire control. The processed data is distributed to onboard operators and C2 centers via network-centric communications.
