Bug Fables: Getting Chompy (+ Mother Chomper Boss Battle)

I acquired Chompy, the amazing baby Chomper, after defeating the Mother Chomper in Chomper Cavern on Hard Mode. After getting the Chomper Seed, Chompy will be born by talking to Professor Honeycomb in the Hive. Chompy acts as a partner and adds a free mini-attack every turn. I believe you can also customize Chompy's abilities / effects with Ribbons later on in the game.

Also showcased is discovering the Berserker medal, which is quite unique and interesting, by digging through the leftmost crack on the bottom level of Chomper Cavern. I decided to utilize it in the fight against the Mother Chomper. There are several strategies you can employ to defeat this boss, but a very simple and accessible (early on) strategy is using Kabbu's Taunt to redirect all the enemies' attacks to himself, and then Leif's Bubble Shield Lite to protect Kabbu from all damage. All of this occurs while Vi damages the Mother Chomper down over time. There is a LOT of damage on the other side in this battle, but no multi-target attacks, which is why this strategy is so effective. I used Berserker to achieve a high damage output from Vi each turn without using TP. Strong Start was just to get an extra attack in at the beginning of the fight. Deep Taunt on Kabbu is super effective too in tandem with this strategy, since Mother Chomper's defense drop allows Vi to deal more damage, and the resultant increase in Mother Chomper's attack means nothing when all the attacks deal 0 damage each turn anyways. Finally, Favorite One on Kabbu makes this even more powerful, since the charges boost Vi's damage output every turn as well (Kabbu will be targeted every turn with Taunt).
