Fans of horror films gathered Saturday at the Palace theater in Eastwood with movie artists, celebrities for a whole day of screams, blood splattering movie fun.

Started in 2005, the Salt City Horrorfest has brought popular and obscure horror films to Syracuse. This year's guest list included Edmund Farrell ("The Mutilator"), David Naughton ("An American Werewolf in London"), John Dugan ("The Texas Chain Saw Massacre") and Richard Band and Brian Yuzna ("Re-Animator," "From Beyond"). David Naughton, the star of American Werewolf in London, screened the 1982 classic and spoke with fans about the movie and his career.

Upstate New York author and actor Solon Tsangaras of Afton debuted Belly Timber, a campy splatter film based loosely on a mysterious disappearance in Indianapolis in the 1860s. The film had just finished editing earlier in the week.

In addition to the movies, the event also featured vendors specializing in movie props, horror artwork and creature makeup as well as horror themed memorabilia for sale.
