Inspector Morley Late of Scotland Yard, "Reilly at Bay" Ep 9 1952 Tod Slaughter, Patrick Barr F189 b

What I believe is a lost episode of the 1952 British crime drama series entitled "Inspector Morley late of Scotland Yard". This is episode 9 "Reilly at Bay", which I understand is either lost or not in circulation currently. It has a very sweet period feel, it is hard to imagine there are murderers amongst such polite people!

I think 13 of these 25/26 minute dramas were shown on televison in the US in the early 1950s, but the last 6 were not shown in the UK (indeed, I gather none of the episodes may have been shown in the UK, but I am not sure). Though I am fairly sure content from the latter 6 episodes was edited into two films.

The series is perhaps most famed for starring Tod Slaughter as Terence Reilly, the arch nemesis of our good detective. This was late in Tod's career, in which he had stood out as a leading actor in horror film and stage melodrama.

This is the second recording of this film I have made, as the sound on the last one was not very good. The sound is a bit better here I think, but is the best I can do really...and the film does not sound very much better than this when projected with a good amp.

This film was labelled as "Riley Bay" on the can...so I was expecting to see coastal Riley Bay in the 1950s...and was surprised to find this when projected. The film had been stored unused since the 1970s.
