The illustrations in elementary maths textbook published by People’s Education Press triggered nationwide outcry, which is turning into a political movement gaining in strength. Movement of this sort is measuring everything by way of ‘political correctness’. Any opposing opinions are likely to be choked by an iron fist. It looks as if we are walking into a déjà vu.
Yet as a matter of fact, no one has ever tackled the real problems that have always existed in the writing up of our textbooks.
