Tesla opened its first European factory on Tuesday.
Situated in Gruenheide, a town in the outskirts of Berlin this new "Gigafactory" will employ 12,000 people and produce 500,000 vehicles a year in an effort to challenge German automakers on their home turf.

German chancellor Olaf Scholz attended the opening ceremony as well as economy minister Robert Habeck and Tesla founder Elon Musk, who seemed to enjoy himself during the presentation after making a promise to the local community.
