Currently, multiple countries are being considered for potential inclusion in the BRICS alliance over time. Yet, Mexico remains in a state of uncertainty. With its substantial economy ranking among the top 12 globally in terms of GDP, the decision to join or abstain from joining the BRICS bloc has become a subject of debate. Furthermore, as one of the neighbouring countries and allies of the US, with a trade volume exceeding 1 billion US dollars annually, Mexico's decision regarding BRICS membership could be of crucial significance. If Mexico opts to join BRICS, it will tilt the balance in favour of the BRICS bloc over the USA. This carries particular significance as the US has been aiming to increase its investments in Mexico to lessen its dependence on China. In this video, we aim to dissect this conundrum by examining the official stance of the Mexican government and politicians on this matter. We also examine Mexico's upcoming election slated for the summer and the potential for a significant shift in the country's position, similar to what happened in Argentina, where the new president chose not to join BRICS.
