Ok so here it is: The be all end all sales formula that has made me (and many others) millions of dollars.
Let me be clear, this is not a script. While sales scripts are good for the underlying mechanisms of sales when you’re learning, they aren’t easily adaptable.
As we teach in our Digital Expert courses, its really isn’t that hard to become a master salesman. The steps are pretty straightforward:
Open The Sale
Build rapport
Deliver pitch
Close the deal
When I started in sales, there wasn’t really a science to my madness...I just knew people wanted what I was selling and I was able to give it to them.
Initially I sold cutco knives, sold education packages to go door to door.
In the end, door to door salesmanship was a good place for me to start, because it is the worst sales environment in the world.
After someone opens the door, you have 3-5 seconds to get their attention, and then 30 seconds to hold their attention.
At the start, I went 3 weeks with no sales and was almost fired….a month or two later, I was the biggest producer in Canada.
From there I went into selling tutoring and education, and went from closing $300 knife bundles to $13,000 education packages.
From there, I’ve taught masterminds of 40-50 people and using this FUJI method, they have all drastically increased their revenue. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
Most people think that sales is all about closing. “You gotta be a closer” “I’m an online closer” etc...but here’s the thing. The closing of a sale is really the opening of a relationship with a customer, where you both move forward together.
This mentality, coupled with the FUJI method, is responsible for drastically increasing my revenue, and the revenue of those around me.
These tactics can be sprinkled in at any point throughout your sales process, so order is less important than actually doing them.
So without further ado, here it is:
FUJI
FEAR OF LOSS
Try to frame things in such a way that their decision results in immediate loss or gain.
BUT. Do not use false scarcity. Use a limited opportunity only IF it’s a truly limited opportunity. If you’re selling cars, you have scarcity. If there’s a timeline, you have scarcity. If there’s a deadline, you have scarcity.
Framing things so that it’s clear that buying your product or service is a cost now, but a long term investment
You need to understand your prospect, you need to be in their head.
High ticket price is not usually an issue, so much as being in their head and recognizing that they don’t want to lose the opportunity you’re offering.
URGENCY
Don’t ever use false urgency, but DO use urgency. Urgency can be true if you’re selling out of something, if there are limited spots or products, or there’s a limited window in which to act.
JONES EFFECT
Use social proof to get referrals and social pressure.
When my friend was starting his fencing company, I told him to do one neighbour’s fence for free, in return for a referral. Then, when that was done and looking good, go knock on the next house over and ask if they wanted their fence done as well.
Doing this, he did EVERY house on a street and took home over 40K in two weeks.
If you’re selling door to door, “I actually just sold this to _____ down the street.”
People want to do what people are already doing, and your job is to show them how desirable your offering is.
INDIFFERENCE

So when I’m on a sales call, I’ll often inform them that at the end of the day, their relationship is what matters to me.
I never want to pull them over the line, I want them to be able to make an informed decision, and then we can choose to move forward together using the right sale formula.
All I ask is that they DO make a decision.
In this way, I make it clear that I do expect a decision, but am able to do it in a pressure free way.
And that’s FUJI in a nutshell.
