Welcome back to another episode of #GlamWithPlum In this series, we’ll learn all things makeup. In today’s episode, we’ll learn the dos and don'ts of liquid lipsticks.

Do you also envy people who have the perfect pout, no smudging, no bleeding? We feel you! Liquid lipsticks are THE trend and who doesn’t wanna show off that perfect pout? Pucker up gorgeous, coz we have some amazing dos and don'ts for you to flaunt that pout!

Don’t: Apply lipsticks on dry, flaky lips

The only thing that can make dry lips worse is to apply liquid lipstick over top. Dry, flaky lips will only make your lips uncomfortable and the lipstick will cling to dry patches, making it look all the more unattractive.

Do: Keep your lips moisturized

The key to achieving the perfect pout is to start off with moisturized lips. Use a nourishing lip balm to prep your lips for lipstick application.

Don’t: Apply a thick coat

It might sound appealing but painting your lips with thick coats of lipstick is not a great idea. It will take the lipstick forever to dry and will allow smearing and bleeding all at once.


Do: Start applying lipstick slowly

Start off by applying thin and even layers in the center of your upper lip, then work from the center to the outer edges. Follow the contour of your mouth and fill in. You can add another coat, but only after the first has dried.


Don’t: Be harsh while taking it off

Liquid lipsticks tend to stick to your skin firmly and taking them off can be tricky. It might not come off in one swipe like your regular lipsticks and you may be tempted to scrub your lips raw to get the stain out. Avoid this at all costs as you might end up with sore lips.


Do: Remove your lipstick gently

Gently wipe away with an oil-based makeup remover or a cleansing balm to get rid of the pigment. It will also keep your lips soft and supple.
