The second bridge and one of two bridges in Poole, Dorset crossing the waterway leading to Upton Lake (the other bridge being the Poole lifting bridge). It opened in April 2012. It is iconic in Poole and very unique with its "twin sails" triangular design. The hydraulics which raise the spans take around 2 minutes to fully open. In the video of this bridge, the full sequence of the bridge raise is shown, and a far back shot of the bridge in its raised position. Since opening, the bridge has had numerous maintenance issues, as compared to the other bridge, which had major maintenance upgrades and repairs in 2018.
