Описание к видео Hygromorphs: Behaviour in the First Response Cycle (Hygromorphic Response)

The response of samples of bilayered hygromorphic composites with different active layer thicknesses to wetting and drying. The video illustrates the first response cycle in which the thin composites produce a positive curvature change in comparison to the initial curvature (curve in the opposite direction) whereas the thick composites produce a negative change (i.e. never quite achieve the initial shape when the initial conditions are returned).

The prototype has been designed and produced by Artem Holstov in co-operation with Philip Morris.
