Death ritual of my absolute favourite bird, the black-billed magpie (Pica hudsonia). The ritual continued into the following day when a magpie returned to check on their fallen friend one more time and actively was trying to help the dead one up with his beak. There was less of a crowd in the sky, but still a large number of birds overhead. When the dead bird was "confirmed" as dead, the investigator flew off to join the group while vocalizing loudly.
