Dan O'Grady is back in North Carolina after a trip to Ireland, where he swindled the leprechaun and stole some gold coins. The leprechaun tracked him down and killed his wife, but Dan was able to trap him in a basement box with a four leaf clover on top.
Dan is all set to burn down the house, but before he does, he suffers a heart attack. Ten years after that, J. D. buys the rundown house for a rock-bottom price and moves out of LA with his pampered daughter Tory Redding with the intention of rehabbing the property.
He employs a three-person team consisting of the attractive Nathan, the mentally handicapped Ozzie, and the intelligent Alex to decorate the property, and Tory is attracted to Nathan.
When Ozzie visits the basement, he mistakenly removes a clover from the lid of the box, allowing the creature to emerge. However, no one believes him, and the leprechauns seek to obtain his one hundred gold coins, thus initiating a series of criminal activities
