Molasses Reef

Arguably one of the most popular dive spots in Key Largo, Molasses Reef is easy to find, with a 45ft light tower marking it's location. This spur-and-groove reef system is large, and has an average depth of 35ft, which gives divers ample bottom time to explore. Because of its depth and size, Molasses is a popular site for night dives. Since the visibility is so great, snorkeling is also popular here, and mooring buoys are prevalent. A windlass (a device for raising or hauling) can be found adjacent to the light tower, the only remains of the so-called Winch Wreck. Keep your eyes peeled for star coral and sharks!
