It’s hard to deliver value for money at a higher price point, but Mahindra managed to do exactly that when they launched the XUV500. In its updated avatar, the 2018 XUV500 continues to offer great bang for buck whether it’s a matter of equipment levels or performance. Over the years we've seen the XUV put up a good fight against everything from the Toyota Innova Crysta and Tata Hexa, to the Renault Duster, Hyundai Creta and Jeep Compass. However, it does come with its share of drawbacks as well. In this video, we’re going to take a look at the pros and cons of the 2018 XUV500 and tell you if it’s worth buying one.

2018 Mahindra XUV500 Exterior:

The Mahindra XUV500 has great road presence. The aggressively styled headlamps, chrome kissed front end, muscular side profile and cool new 18-inch wheels make the new XUV quite the attention commander! And let's not forget, with a length of over 4.5 metres, it has size on its side too.

2018 New XUV500 Features:

The XUV500 2018 is easily one of the most feature-loaded options for the money. Even the base XUV W5 for example, gets projector headlamps, all wheel disc brakes, power windows all round folding rear seats and music system with Bluetooth. Move just one variant up and you have a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, auto AC, cruise control and more. The higher variants add a sunroof, a powered driver seat and leather upholstery among other features.

2018 XUV Engine:

We’ve spent several kilometres driving the older XUV500 and never did we find it to be lacking in performance. In fact, the XUV has always been a good performer in the city and a very accomplished highway tourer. And now, it gets even more power and torque to quench any extra need for speed. The 2.2-litre unit now makes 155PS of power and 360Nm of torque.
