In this video, Dr. Pragati Gupta discusses and illustrates the use of acupressure points to improve recovery after stroke using basic instruments.

Acupressure points are points on the hands which are connected to the brain. When pressure is applied to these points, stimulation occurs inside the brain, allowing for better coordination and movement. When patients experience stiffness or heaviness in their hands, exercises can be performed to reduce these acupressure points.

The first exercise involves straightening the hand by pushing the point of the fingertips, which indicates the brain's part.

The ball can also exercise the joints of the palms, wrist, elbow, shoulder, and neck.

The ball's movement should be circular, clockwise, or anticlockwise and not forcefully applied at one place.

The forearm portion can also be given light pressure using the ball or a roller for smoother movement.

These exercises, when performed regularly, not only stimulate the brain but also enhance circulation and alleviate muscle numbness, thereby accelerating the recovery process.

Hand exercise is the focus of today's video because the hand takes longer to recover than the legs, but with the help of these basic instruments, the hand can also recover quite well.
