ABOUT:

Accompanying her two award-nominated singles, “Ni Panike” & “Baby”, Masayah's latest release “Poznam” also serves as a teaser for her upcoming album, setting the stage for its diversified mood and revealing its much-anticipated release date. As the shortest song on the album, it functions as an interlude, containing all the built up emotions and harrowing experiences that shaped her album into what it is. In “Poznam”, we open on a glimpse of Masayah dialing a phone number that no longer exists. The number belongs to her Father, who passed away in 2019 due to cancer. We witness her breaking down in disbelief, just as she was when creating this song. After he had passed, Masayah tried calling his phone number while recording this song, just this one time – she put the call on speaker so that if he’d really been there – she could record his voice one last time. Because that voice is now slowly fading from her memory. As are so many other matters described in the song’s lyrics.
As “Poznam” means to know someone, to have lived through something, she emphasizes her experiences – portraying shattered relationships, gambling addictions, broken homes, drug abuse, the corrupt side of the music industry, and how to some people, being helpless and lost is the only thing they know. The song opens up to a heartfelt chorus detailing how Masayah has known all of this far too well, for far too long. The video cuts to black, revealing a release date for the album: April 16th, 2023.
