Blue Force Gear PLATEminus Strength Test Review

As part of a review of the BFG PLATEminus, I performed some strength testing on the carrier and the ULTRAcomp material, which is the same material used in BFG's Helium Whisper pouches.

The first test is performed with the assembled carrier with plates in it. Not only does the carrier material easily support my weight, the shoulder straps, which are velcroed together, stay assembled without excess stress.

The second test is a single side of the carrier, testing the strength of a single piece of laminate. With my fingers hooked through the laser cut holes, the material again supported my weight without distress. There was no deformation or tearing at the corners of the material.
