Budgets for the arts, and music specifically, across the United States are cut to make way for more time and money to be spent on math and science, but is it possible that this well-intentioned priority might actually be counter-productive? Here, Josie explores the strong connection between Math and Music and how both are integral to understanding the other. Josie Brooks is a fourteen-year-old eighth grader who loves to learn, dance, and draw. She is an especially passionate oboe player and will speak to you today about the connections between math and music, with a specific focus on how the study of one is correlated with excellence in the other.
