Mariana asks Isolina questions, about her last visit of aunt Adelaida's flat, because she feels, that Isolina could cause trouble, informing Adelaida about Gustavo. Teresa and Bernarda change their opinions about firing Celeste. Teresa demands her dismissal, but Bernarda gently opposes. Bernarda's reasoning has two major points - poor health of Celeste's mother and Isabel desire of Celeste to stay. At the end of debate, Celeste isn't fired. Emilio from Madrid calls Fernando in Rome, but with no success. He wants to inform him about Isabel's arrival. Bernarda wants to fire Celeste herself, but Celeste, begging on her knees, persuade Bernarda to stay. Mariana tried to surprise Gustavo by visiting him in his flat. But at the entrance, gatekeeper, true father of Gustavo, informs Mariana, that Gustavo is away. Isabel ordered blanket, because she felt cold. Fernando is at restaurant on business lunch and makes telephone call to his hotel room, he wants to know, where Manuela actually is. Rudy wants to know, where Manuela is. Rosario tells him, she left without any message. Rosario tries to convince Rudy to forget Manuela, because Rosario herself is in love with Rudy. Manuela buys roses for Fernando. Isabel takes some analgetics to calm her down. Crying Manuela arrived almost at the entrance of pension Amelia. In the last moment, she changes her mind and leaves the pension and continues to wander Rome streets. Adelaida and Mercedes discuss all the topics, which Mercedes thinks about - Gustavo, Mariana, Manuela and Mercedes' dead husband, Corrado. Bernarda secretly witnessses talk between Teresa and Leopoldo. Leopoldo wants to move to his and Teresa's house, he wants to leave Salinas' residence. Manuela is still wandering Rome streets and about certain places, she reminds herself about time spent together with Fernando. Emilio arrived at Fernando's hotel room and is welcomed by Isabel. Emilio tries to apologize himself for lying to Isabel about Fernando's lover. Isabel stops him, telling Emilio, that she encountered Fernando's lover herself. Emilio again tries to persuade Isabel to split from Fernando and leave with him. Isabel replies, she won't split from Fernando, because her status, wife of Fernando Salinas, is more important than some dumb romantic lover waiting for her. Rudy is calling in Amelia's pension, asking for Manuela, but with no success. Manuela visits church in Rome, in order to calm her mind down. After the pray, Manuela collapses.
