We want to set sail for the ocean soon and that means that we have A LOT of refitting to do to get our boat ready for whatever is thrown at her. It's a little bit scary when you find a cracked chainplate, the one thing standing between you and being DISMASTED... I'd never seen a chainplate so close to completely failing! If we hadn't found this now, and been dismasted in the ocean, we could've been left stranded in the worst possible scenario. The sailing gods must be on our side!!!
