O'Higgins Park is a park located in the center of the city of Santiago de Chile, specifically in the homonymous commune. O'Higgins Park is next to the Santiago subway station that bears his name, and near the new Central Railway.
The Park annually becomes the center of activity of Chilean Independence Day. In the area known as El Pueblito, dozens of inns, enclosures national typical gastronomy with places to dance, as the cave are installed. Every September 19 is performed at the Esplanade Park (known as the Ellipse), the military parade in front of the highest authorities of the government and hundreds of thousands of spectators. In its east side, the University Bernardo O'Higgins is located.
For this season on November 9 at the Ellipse O'Higgins Park can enjoy the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples, which will visit our country with its 200 members who make its prestigious orchestra and choir.
The activity is touring throughout the month to submit a lyric-symphonic concert in tribute to the great classics of Italian opera, and the opera "Cosi fan tutte" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, with régie . Giorgio Strehler, in a tour that will include four cities in Chile
The tour starts with the lyric-symphonic concert on November 6 at the Ruins of Huanchaca, Antofagasta; continues with performances on 9 Ellipse O'Higgins Park and 11 in Valparaiso Sotomayor Square.
All concerts will be conducted by Maurizio Benini, in the orchestra, and Salvatore Caputo, in the choir. For its part, the opera "Cosi fan tutte" will be presented on 14 and 16 November at the Regional Theatre of Maule, in Talca.
The program is presented by Minera Escondida, operated by BHP Billiton and the Theatre Foundation Mil, as part of the celebrations of the bicentennial of Chile. All activities are with entrance released.
