Guns on campus

Описание к видео Guns on campus

Fifty years after a gunman opened fire from the tower at the University of Texas in Austin -- the first recorded mass shooting in US history -- students can now carry loaded handguns on campus. Proponents of the new law, affecting all public universities in the Lone Star State, say an armed student body might be able to prevent other mass shootings. Nick Roland, a survivor of the 2007 shooting at Virginia Tech which killed 32 people, says that’s why he carries a Glock 23 to his graduate classes at the University of Texas. Ramiro Martinez doesn’t buy that argument. He was one of the police officers who eventually took down the Texas sniper in 1966. “If a citizen had been out here with a gun, and I saw him, and I didn't know him from Adam, I might have blasted him away. Let the police do the policing.”
