We will use a file of employees and their salaries. We will write some formulas to create the summary - count how many employees have salaries in different ranges, and the total salary amount for each of the ranges. We will also apply conditional formatting to make this visually effective.

Steps
1. Create the table, your data set into a table first.
2. Enter the ranges or the bins according to your data set's needs.
3. Write the formula using the COUNTIFS function.
4. Write the formula using the SUMIFS function.
5. Calculate Totals for both.
6. Apply conditional formatting to count of employees
7. Apply conditional formatting to Sum of Salary
8. Overall formatting and cleaning it up.

That's how we converted this detailed data set into a summary table which is easy to understand also visually.
