Each summer, the Summer Peacebuilding Institute (SPI) at the Center for Justice and Peacebuilding (CJP) brings together practitioners, scholars, and community leaders from around the world to learn, share, and grow. More than just a training program, SPI is a vibrant global network where change-makers build practical skills in conflict transformation, restorative justice, trauma awareness, transformational leadership, and strategic peacebuilding.

Hosted at Eastern Mennonite University, SPI has welcomed participants from over 150 countries since its founding. Courses blend theory with hands-on practice, creating space for reflection, collaboration, and innovation. Through SPI, CJP equips leaders to address today’s most urgent challenges, whether in communities, organizations, or international contexts.

At its heart, SPI is about transformation: equipping people with the tools, relationships, and vision to make a lasting difference in a complex world.
