Tree Talk: Bloodroot

Описание к видео Tree Talk: Bloodroot

Happy Halloween! In late September we were lucky to find bloodroot (Sanguinaria canadensis), a lovely spring ephemeral wildflower with a spooky name. In March, look for its crisp white flowers on the floor of mesic deciduous forests. Like many spring ephemerals, bloodroot populations are declining across the eastern US due to forest fragmentation, invasive plants, and an overabundance of deer. That's pretty scary to us!
