Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge - Testing Prism Tanks

Prism Tanks are available to all the allied factions at the cost of 1200 resources. They are mostly considered as a siege unit and one of the best of that kind in the entire game but at the same time it can do much more.

Prism Tanks are not very fast vehicles and are one of the most fragile units in the entire game. Thus, against vehicles they will lose most head to head battles even from much inferior units. Due to their extremely low health every damage they take is crucial for their survival.

The strongest advantage of Prism Tanks is that they have a long range which can out-range nearly all defenses. Combined with its powerful attack Prism Tanks are no doubt the best siege units in the game. Even a well defended base is no problem for Prism Tanks to penetrate. In most cases a single Prism Tank can work better against structures than any other source of vehicles. They can also shoot over walls and their beam can not be shot down like it happens with V3 rockets so basically your only way to defend your base is to charge at them.

Basically, Prism Tanks are strong against structures, good against units and mediocre against vehicles. However, once Prism Tanks hit the elite rank they are pretty much strong against everything. Their damage and attack speed is increased so much that even an Apocalypse tank can be severely damaged. Their beam can hit multiple targets at once so few of them can cause chaos.

To sum up, if Prism Tanks are used correctly they are definitely one of the most dangerous units in the game. Their only weakness is their extremely low health and poor armor which even in Elite Rank is not enough to survive. The only defensive structure that can counter them is the Grand Cannon which is only available to France.
