I have specified bulbs into our domestic garden designs more this year than any in my last 20 something years under my own name.
It was of an era maybe, the role of bedding plants to brighten up a space - back in the days of conifers + heathers, then came (of public realm or larger gardens at least) wildflowers and now it seems the “wildflower” bulb arrangement (by jub holland for example) have filled that void.
Bring that a stage further and we have 3 gardens designs to come into progress where we know bulbs - due to less maintenance reasons meets gps settings allowed by kress uk mowers and a need for colour.
For now,, bulb planting not by machine.
