Following the deaths of children in Chhindwara district after consuming prescribed cough syrup, authorities have launched an urgent investigation into the Srisan Pharmaceutical Factory in Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu. Four drug control officers from Delhi and Chennai began inspecting the manufacturing unit today. Out of 12 medicine samples sent for testing, three have returned with no harmful substances; results for the remaining samples are expected soon. Central agencies and NEERI are monitoring the testing process, while preventive measures and supply chain investigations are underway to ensure child safety.
