Here are our travel tips for exploring the south coast of Iceland in just one weekend, or 48 hours. Everyone told us December wasn't a good time to go, but we loved our winter trip to Iceland. It's a completely different experience to going in the summer, but so so beautiful. Whether it's your first time in Iceland or you just want to venture out of the Golden Circle, we hope you find these tips useful.

We highly recommend hiring a car and driving yourself. Get out of Rekyavik and head to Hofn. See the crashed plane, the black sand beach, stop in Vik and hang out at the Diamond Beach.
