Study of Human Skeleton

In this video we are discussing about the skeletal system which consists of a framework of bones and a few cartilages. Bone and cartilage are specialized connective tissues. In human beings, this system is made up of 206 bones and a few cartilages. Human skeleton is grouped into two divisions – the axial skeleton and the appendicular skeleton. The axial skeleton comprises 80 bones distributed along the main axis of the body. The skull, vertebral column, sternum and ribs constitute axial skeleton. whereas the bones of the limbs along with their girdles constitute the appendicular skeleton. In human beings , 126 bones make up the appendicular bones, these includes the girdles and the limb bones, each limb is made of 30 bones.
