When to use Effects as Inserts or Sends | Music Production for Beginners 3

If you have multiple tracks which are - for example - all vocal tracks that you want to add an identical plug-in effect like compressor or reverb for ambience on, it’s likely that the effect setting on each one will be identical. A very efficient workflow for this is setting up a stereo bus to add one instance of the same effect over all the tracks. By selecting multiple channel strips in the mix console, you can add a group channel, name it and Cubase creates a new fader which controls the level of all those tracks. Here you can add single or multiple effects like delay, EQ or anything else to this bus, changing the parameters to affect all of those individual tracks identically. It’s a much more time and processor-friendly way of working on an audio production in a DAW like Cubase.
