After the shocking murder of a friend they both cared about, wannabe con artist Johnny Hooker (Robert Redford) joins forces with seasoned pro Henry Gondorff (Paul Newman) to get back at the heartless crime lord, Doyle Lonnegan (Robert Shaw), who’s behind it all. Together, they devise a complex plan so clever that Lonnegan won’t even realize he’s being played.
