Rendering Tallow in a crock pot!

When Rod Ridge Farm made a stop at my butcher friend's shop, we picked up some beef fat. In this video, I show how to render the fat down in a crock pot. Beef fat makes tallow when rendered. The crock pot is a very simple method for rendering as it requires minimal attention. I would say this is the easiest way of rendering fat. Other methods for rendering are the cast iron in the oven, low method on the burner in a Dutch oven type pot, and over a fire. The stove top requires checking and stirring regularly.
