How to Play Norwegian Wood on Ukulele (Beginner)

Описание к видео How to Play Norwegian Wood on Ukulele (Beginner)

“Norwegian Wood,” or “This Bird Has Flown” is a song by the Beatles, namely John Lennon and Paul McCartney. The song was featured on their 1965 album Rubber Soul, and features a sitar part played by George Harrison. The song was lyrically influenced by Bob Dylan, but the sitar part ended up becoming a huge influence on rock music at the time, sometimes credited with introducing the raga rock/psychedelic rock’s love affair with Indian classical music. Artists ranging from the Byrds, The Rolling Stones, and Donovan credit this song as an influence. The song has been covered by Waylon Jennings, Tangerine Dream, Cilla Black, Hank Williams Jr., Rahul Dev Burman, and Buddy Rich, among others.

This video is filmed on a tenor ukulele, though you could also play this arrangement on a concert or soprano ukulele. I’ve developed my own lead sheet (link below) which includes the tab, notation, and chords for this song. This song uses several easy no-barre ukulele chords, including G, F, C, Gm, Am, and D. If you’ve been looking to get started playing popular tunes or acoustic classics on your ukulele, this is a great introduction. The video lesson gives you an opportunity to practice playing the chords while singing, as well as showing you an easy fingering for how to play the melody. Happy strumming and, as always, comment below if you have any questions!
