The event was held to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the filming of the famous Ealing Studios comedy film "The Titfield Thunderbolt". The authentic Titfield train was made up of the railway's Wisbech and Upwell Tramcar (sister to that which was used in the film) and visiting GWR Toad brake van. The two vehicles were hauled by GWR 0-4-2 No.1450, which had been painted and renumbered as No. 1401 especially for the event.
Unfortunately the atrocious weather conditions prevented further filming on Sunday, therefore this compilation features Saturday's footage only. The tuneful whistle of the little engine with its quaint ensemble in tow is frequently heard as they scurry through the Norfolk countryside. A Bedford OB bus is seen giving chase as the pair play out their roles. To further enhance the event, a visiting mainline charter hauled by 34067 Tangmere and GWR pannier 9466 arrived in the afternoon and is seen passing the Thunderbolt at Weybourne amid a noisy exchange of whistles.
