After visiting Dogfish Head, we headed to 16 Mile Brewing Company in Georgetown, Delaware. We were excited to visit and highlight this brewery because they were the first brewery to ever send us beer for review. It was great to finally meet the men behind the beer. It was a casual, relaxed atmosphere and it was fun being in a smaller brewery where we could be a little more hands on. Make sure and check out their beers next time you are in the state of Delaware.

Transcript: "After visiting the Dogfish Head Craft Brewery, we headed 12 miles southwest to the 16 Mile Brewing Company in Georgetown, Delaware. This 15 barrel brewery seemed very small after our last stop. When we walked in, owner Chad Campbell was raking out the mash tun.

There was a folksy vibe that permeated the brewery. You could count the staff on one hand. Everyone was very friendly. 16 Mile opened in 2009 and is currently focused on being THE local brewery. Claus Hagelman, their sales and marketing director gave us a great tour of the facility. We saw their grain mill, where they use mostly English barley.

We also saw some of the their new packaging. They've decided to use traditional 12 oz brown bottles for their 6-packs instead of the 16 oz aluminum bottles that they started with.

We then headed over to heart of the brewery where Mark Smith had the opportunity to rake spent barley out of the lauter tun while Chef gave him some encouragement.

They currently have a nice collection of 15 and 30 barrel fermenters And, they have recently added a new addition where they will be adding more fermenters and have a much larger cooler for storing beer.

After the tour, we interviewed co-owner Chad Campbell to learn more about 16 Mile.

We also had a chance to sample the entire 16 Mile line-up in their brand new taproom. Claus gave us samples and descriptions for each of their six beers. In general, they were lower ABV, session ales. My favorites were two of their newer offerings -- the Inlet IPA and their Harvest Ale. If you ever get a chance I recommend that you try them.

Even though I could have spent the rest of the day at the taproom enjoying the ambience and hospitality, we had to leave after another pint. We still had work to do. That night we had to hit the Dogfish Head Brewpub and the next day we had two more brewery tours -- Evolution Craft Brewery and Fordham and Old Dominion.
