No Savings at 40: Is it too late to start saving for retirement at 40?

Is it too late to start saving for retirement at 40 is a big question. With high costs of living, expensive housing, income not keeping up with inflation, it is increasingly difficult for people to start saving for retirement.
With approximately 33% of people in the UK with less than £600 in savings, and 41% of 34-44 year olds in the USA with no savings, many people have no savings for retirement at 40.

So with many of us in our 40s with nothing saved for retirement is there no hope? The good news is it is not too late to start saving for retirement at 40.
