The "Kalanta" are folklore blessing and praise songs, sung mainly on the eve of major religious fests such as Christmas, New Year's Day (St. Basil), the Epiphany and others. Main traditional musical instruments that accompany the "Kalanta" are the triangle, the lute, the tabor the bagpipe, flute etc.
