With You Around is about the person that makes you light up when they’re around, even if you never get a chance to tell them that. With everything that's happening in the world at the moment it seems more important than ever to find ways of letting the special ones around us know they are loved, be it family members, friends or lovers.

We recorded the song live at Eastcote Studios because we knew we'd be able to capture the classic Country Soul sound we were looking for, each take felt really different and this one had a unique energy that we all found really exciting. It was that point in the day when all the musicians are warmed up and having fun. We loved what Vance Powell had done with Chris Stapleton so he finished it in Nashville and brought his own energy to it.

‘With You Around’ was produced by long-term collaborator Adam Morley (Ferris and Sylvester, Jade Bird, Seafret) at London’s Eastcote Studios and completed in Nashville with six-time Grammy winner Vance Powell (Chris Stapleton, Jack White, Sturgill Simpson).

The song features Carmen Phelan on piano and vocals, Adam Morley on guitar, Jeremy Stacey (Ryan Adams, Ethan Johns) on drums, Andy Wallace (Ronnie Wood) on Hammond / Banjo and Jody Linscott (Stevie Wonder) on percussion. The recording was engineered by Dyre Gormsen (Jason Mraz) and George Murphy (Mumford & Sons) and mastered by Richard Dodd (Civil Wars).
