For a house show that ended up being turned a PPV at the last minute. I didn’t think this was all that terrible.


New Day vs Sheamus & King Barrett for the Tag titles was a decent enough opener. The League of Nations remains one of the biggest missed opportunities in recent WWE history. The group could’ve been a solid heel faction, but they were instead just punching bags for Roman Reigns.

Jericho vs Swagger was a really standard television match. It wasn’t awful but wasn’t anything remotely special. JBL on commentary started screaming “You still got it! You still got it!” I literally had to mute my television because he was utterly fucking obnoxious.

The Revival vs Enzo & Cass for the NXT Tag Titles was a really solid match. I find it insane how Enzo & Cass never won the titles despite how massively over they were with the audience.

Charlotte defended the Divas title against Natalya in a highly underrated match. These two had some really good matches with each other in the mid 2010’s, so WWE naturally put them in 100 different matches afterwards. I definitely recommend folks check out this match though because I thought it was really good.

Brock Lesnar vs Bray Wyatt & Luke Harper is up next and this wasn’t good. Bray stood on the outside of the ring and watched Harper get mauled for 4 minutes. I remember that WWE was originally planning on a Brock vs Bray match for WrestleMania and thank god that didn’t end up happening.

Sami vs Stardust for whatever reason was ridiculously boring. Cody despite being stuck with an awful ass gimmick was still fully able to have a good match and Zayn is one of the best wrestlers of the last decade. So why this ended up not being very good is a real mystery.

Triple H defended the WWE title against Dean Ambrose in the main event. I thought this was a really good match that didn’t feature any flashy nonsense and was just a straight up old school wrestling match. The outcome of this match shouldn’t have remotely been in doubt because WWE wasn’t ever going to change the planned Roman vs HHH match. Excellent match that doesn’t get talked about nearly enough.
