Outrage Over 7-Year-Old Jurnee Hoffmeyer’s Haircut Without Permission

In Michigan, 7-year-old Jurnee Hoffmeyer had her hair cut by a librarian at her school in March.

She came home with half of her hair chopped off and told her father that a white classmate had done it on the bus ride home. Her father, Jimmy Hoffmeyer, took her to the hair salon to get a hair redo. He has filed a $1 million dollar lawsuit against the school district and the individuals involved.

Christina Laster, director of policy and legislation for the National Parents Union, joins Yodit Tewolde on “Making the Case” to discuss impact of the case on Hoffmeyer.
