Описание к видео F-16 Afterburner Run

F-16C in afterburner during a deployment to Incirlik AB, Turkey. I am the skinny one sitting underneath.

All political comments will be deleted. Take them elsewhere. Especially Pakistani/Indian war comments.

Some common questions I am seeing.

1. The jet does not move due to the huge metal bar connecting it to the ground. Look directly underneath the nozze and you will see it. This does not cause damage to the structure, it was made to withstand this much force.

2. Yes it is loud. We have in-ear plugs and over-ear headset on.

3. Yes it is hot. Specifically, the average temperature of an F-110 GE (the engine inside this F-16) turbine afterburner is 2,450°F producing 27,000 lbs of thrust. I got a minor sunburn sitting there in the middle of the night.

4. We have to do this because we swapped the engines out on this aircraft. We have to test it to make sure it works properly before a pilot takes it into the air.

5. I asked to sit under it because it is an experience like no other. I was perfectly safe underneath that aircraft.

6. It is not GTA V. This is not a P-996 Lazer. It is real life, an F-16C Fighting Falcon (or Viper) which is WAY cooler.

7. No you cannot cook something in those flames. Not BBQ, not marshmallows.

8. No, you cannot put your hand in it. Common sense. It is a big hot fire. It has a lot of thrust.

9. It has a total of 12,600 lbs of fuel in it IIRC. At 6.46 lbs per gallon, that is about 1,950 gallons of JP-8 fuel.

10. No, you cant light your cigarette, joint, cigar on that. It is not a lighter.
