He shares the valuable lessons he learned along the way about the importance of integrity and the role individuals can play in shaping institutions. Dinesh S. Thakur is a public health activist. His work focuses on access to high quality generic medicines globally. Most recently, he co-authored The Truth Pill: The Myth of Drug Regulation in India. Dinesh was responsible for prosecution of India's largest pharmaceutical company in 2013 in a US Court where the company pled to seven counts of criminal felony and paid half a billion dollars in fines and penalties for selling adulterated drugs in the US. For his exemplary courage, he was recognised with the Joe A. Callaway award for Civic Courage in 2014 and was also awarded the ACFE's Cliff Robertson Sentinel Award.
