"Linear" by Digitalight | Geometry Dash 2.11

Nice effect levels have been a bit sparse and far between in recent times in my opinion, but luckily we've started to see some more stuff like Cold Sweat, SFW, and more. There are plenty of great effect levels to find from the past, though, and this is one of them. This level was released nearly two and a half years ago now, but it's still a pretty good-looking effect level. I actually didn't see it before today, and when I did, I thought it would be a nice level to look back on. The effects are seen in the background, and they all look nice even though they're fairly simple in detail. Everything is black and white, which fits the song well in my opinion. The effects' movements are synchronized perfectly to the song as well. Some of the block designs are fairly simple, perhaps a bit too simple, but this also puts more emphasis on the effects. The main issue with this level to me is gameplay, especially at 0:25. It comes out of nowhere, is quite fast, and has many movements both vertically and horizontally. The part does synchronize to the song well, but it's just far harder than the other parts, making the level unbalanced. I'm sad we haven't got to see any other works from Digitalight since this, apart from pointzero featuring a banger part by him. Hopefully we'll see more soon!
