(TV Debut: March 26, 1973)

Legendary game show producer Bob Stewart created the $10,000 Pyramid, with Dick Clark as the host (Bill Cullen and John Davidson also later emceed this classic). Pyramid enjoyed a run of over 15 years and saw the value of the pyramid increase from $10,000 to $100,000.

Contestants and celebrity guests tried to get their partners to guess words or phrases by describing the items to their partners in timed 30-second rounds. The team with the most points after three rounds advanced to the "Winner's Circle" to play the "Big Board," where one player tried to get their partner to guess six subjects in 60 seconds by giving them a list of items associated with that subject.

During the 1970s, the song "Tuning Up" by Ken Aldin, included here, was used as the theme music for the show. When the show returned in 1982, Bob Cobert created a new theme for the show.
